Title AE: Preparing Papers for Publication in English
Description This workshop course is for University of Bern doctoral students who are preparing a paper for publication in the near future. The paper may be a research article, review article, short communication or letter, conference paper, book chapter, or other type of publication.
The four half-day sessions aim to assist those who attend to carefully assess their own work, improve their writing practices, edit and revise drafts for clarity and effective communication, and ensure that their manuscript meets the requirements of their target journal or conference. Inputs cover writing for specific readerships, the writing process and writing efficiently, drafting and revising, and peer review and the publication process. Activities involve collaborative and peer review exercises, and every participant’s text receives detailed individual feedback from the instructor.
To attend, you must have a manuscript in preparation
Doctoral students do not have to submit a placement test to attend this workshop. Please register in KSL/CTS using your student campus account.
After you register for the workshop in KSL, please send a summary of your work in progress or an abstract of your paper (c. 250 words) to the lecturer.


The workshops will take place online on June 6, 13, 20 and 27, 2024 (from 14:15-17:30).
