Title Practical Course General Chemistry II. For students of chemistry, biochemistry and pharmacy
Description The lab course General Chemistry II focuses on the subjects presented in the lecture General Chemistry II. Organic synthesis are performed and the learned techniques like distillation, recrystallization and extraction are used to work-up and purify the reaction mixtures. Products are identified by spectroscopic methods and their purity is checked. Surfactants, colorants and polymers are synthesized and their properties are characterized. Results and observations are completely protocolled, evaluated and discussed in seminars.

The lab course is a necessary prerequisite for the lab courses IC I, OC I and PC I.

The lab course includes 7 lessons per week for all students.

Depending on the availability of assistants the lab course will be held in English or German.
