| Description |
This is an upper-intermediate/advanced (level B2-C1) course that prepares students for the TOEFL exam run by ETS. This course is designed for students who need to take the official TOEFL exam, either for study abroad purposes or for their studies in Switzerland. This course will provide guidance and practice in all four academic English skills assessed by the TOEFL exam: reading, listening, speaking, and writing. Please note that this a TOEFL exam preparation course; we offer courses called “English for University Studies” if you simply want to improve your general skills in Academic English. Please also note that the University of Bern is not an official ETS testing center for TOEFL (the nearest one is in Zurich).
Materials required: The Official Guide to the TOEFL® Test, Fourth Edition published by ETS (Educational Testing Service)
Out-of-class workload: average 2 hours a week.
