Description |
Emotion research is an important and highly regarded area of neuroscience. This course offers an introduction to different areas of "affective neuroscience", such as emotional decision-making processes, emotional experience and perception, influence of emotions on memory and decision-making processes, but also mental illnesses such as depression, addictive disorders and anxiety disorders are part of the topics covered. These topics will be explained using current scientific literature, with a focus on studies that have used functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate brain processes. The seminar relies on lively and active student participation in each session. |
