Title Oxford IP Moot Court: Oral Phase
Description The Oxford International Intellectual Property Law Moot involves teams from law faculties around the world and is focused on a different topic of intellectual property law each year. Students will spend the spring semester authoring written skeleton arguments; crafting arguments and polishing oral argumentation skills; improving their writing and research skills in English; and conducting in-depth research on the specific intellectual property topic of the moot. At Oxford, students will have the opportunity to compete against teams from around the world, being judged by distinguished practitioners and actual judges from the U.K. The language of the written materials and oral arguments will be English.

Requirements for receiving credit for this class are:

1) Submission of written skeleton arguments for both the appellant and respondent
2) Preparation and organization of bundles for both the appellant and respondent
3) Preparation of oral arguments for and participation in all preparatory rounds held at the University of Bern
4) Preparation of oral arguments for and participation in the oral rounds held at Oxford University
5) Extensive case research and mastery of relevant case law to prepare to rebut arguments of other teams at the Moot
6) Meeting deadlines and timelines and successfully working as a team in a professional manner. Complying with courtroom protocol appropriate to the forum.
