Title Political Theology and Blasphemy in Pier Paolo Pasolini's Work
Description Pier Paolo Pasolini is one of the most important intellectuals of the second half of the 20th century. His rich oeuvre includes poetry, film, and journalistic interventions. His preoccupation with central sources of the occidental tradition, in particular also with the Christian work, in which political, religious and blasphemous-obscene aspects are combined in an idiosyncratic way, has anticipated and inspired the intellectual preoccupation with Christianity since the 90s of the last century. In our course we will focus on religious-political aspects in his work, examining and discussing mainly his film work.
