Title Individual differences and their impact in the cyberworld
Description This seminar is about different personality traits and their impact on the use of different technologies in the online world and vice versa, i.e. the influence of technologies on our personality. The main personality traits addressed are the Big Five, self-esteem and self-efficacy, but also shyness, loneliness, narcissism, and trait anxiety. The use of smartphones, tablets, chats and of course the internet as well as first experiences from the metaverse (especially gamification) are discussed as digital media. The following aspects of the connection between individual differences and the work context in cyberpsychology are also adressed: Social media, dealing with evaluations and likes, suitability diagnostics, typical behavior and its challenges as well as promoting creativity.
