Title |
PA: Prehistoric Ireland |
Description |
Ireland has a rich prehistoric heritage. It begins with the first evidence of permanent human settlement in Ireland shortly after the end of the Ice Age and ends with the beginning of historical records around 400 AD. The Neolithic period in particular has left behind the most spectacular remains in the form of megalithic tombs.
In this seminar, which also serves as preparation for an excursion in summer 2023, we will explore the different periods and sites of Prehistoric Ireland. In the preparatory seminar, the excursion participants will present their assigned sites in papers and prepare written contributions to a reader for the excursion. This will prepare them to take the lead on site. |
