Description Description:
Course objective: This course provides an introduction to the study of the political economy of climate change. It focuses primarily on concepts and perspectives, which one may employ in understanding and describing the behavior of nations with regard to the impacts of climate change. Topics covered include realist and liberal paradigms, hegemony and regimes, theories of public choice (public goods, externalities, interest groups), international institutions and agreements, and the relationship between climate change and economic growth, trade, political system (democracy), and conflict.
