Title Excursion 6: Spotting, Sampling, and Shooting: Alpine arthropods around Kandersteg (Invertebrates)
Description According to special programme. Registration deadline 1. Juni in KSL. 3 ECTS-credits can be obtained, 0.5 credits per excursion.

The date of excursion may change (see KSL).

TThe excursion offers an overview on the Swiss invertebrate fauna with special emphasis on the insect order Hymenoptera (ants, bees, and wasps).
The one-day excursion will take place in the highly diverse area of the Gasterntal valley, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Students will learn about diverse habitats for insects and can practice spotting, sampling, and identifying them.
In addition, life history information and adaptations to changing environments (e. g. due to climate change) of the spotted species are provided and discussed.


Prioritization rules:

2. The higher the ECTS of the vessel, the higher the priority
3. Master has higher priority than Bachelor
