Title |
Inorganic Chemistry II, incl. Exercises |
Description |
The IC II lecture is based on the "General Chemistry" and IC I courses and deals in detail with the basic concepts of the structures of coordination compounds of transition metals, including coordination geometry, isomerism, and symmetry. A special emphasis is put on the chemical bonding of different ligand classes. Their implication on electronic, magnetic, and spectroscopic properties will be deduced from crystal field theory and ligand field theory. In addition, the major concepts of f-block metal complexes will be introduced.
