Description Course dates: Monday 01.06.2026 - Friday 12.06.2026. Arrival and departure is before and after these dates. Registration deadline 18. February in KSL.
Two weeks block course in June/July at the marine biological station STARESO on Corsica, France.

The KSL registration for all research practicals in the spring semester will open on 07.10.25 at 03.30 am.

This course replaces the previous research practical in aquatic ecology & evolution.

The aims of the practical are (i) to learn broadly about biodiversity, ecology and evolution in the marine littoral habitat, especially fish diversity, during daily field trips and processing of collected material and (ii) to conduct small research projects in groups of two or three students in the field and/or in aquaria asking ecological or evolutionary questions in a marine setting. The research project includes developing questions to ask, collecting data, statistical analysis. A background in basic statistics is necessary. Results will be presented in short presentations and discussed at the end of the second week, and a written report summarizing the research projects is requested after the completion of the course, to be submitted approximately two weeks after the course.
