| Title |
Quantum Chemistry: Chemical Bonding, incl. Exercises |
| Description |
Based on the concepts and methods of quantum mechanics, the course describes the physical and chemical properties of molecules and simple solids. Chemical bonds and chemical reactivity are described using quantum chemical principles. The lecture will include an introduction to computational chemistry. Students will perform simple quantum chemical calculations on their own computers and analyze the results. This will provide students with the theoretical foundation for more advanced lectures such as spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy, inorganic chemistry, physical organic chemistry, molecular modeling, solid-state physics, and theoretical electrochemistry. |
