Overview
This seminar provides an introduction to the Philosophy of Economics for Master students in Economics. The course combines foundations in general philosophy of science with contemporary debates in economic methodology, rationality, welfare, causality, experiments, and the role of economists in public policy.

The seminar is organized as a reading group: each week we discuss a different scientific paper, which will be presented by one of the participants.
Each student is expected to prepare and present one paper (30 min presentation). In addition, all participants are expected to carefully read all papers and to participate in the discussion after each presentation. Regular attendance is mandatory (max. two times absent). However, students do not have to submit written term papers.

Registration
Participants have to register via KSL from January 25, 2026, until February 8, 2026. The maximum number of participants is limited to 10 students, first come first served.
