This seminar offers an applied introduction to experimental economics with a strong emphasis
on replication and design. Students will work in small groups to:
(i) replicate and extend classic experiments in economics using
existing materials, and
(ii) develop their own experimental design.

The seminar runs in parallel to the course Behavioral Economics. The replication experiments
will be conducted in that course and the results will be presented there. While the course
Behavioral Economics is not a formal prerequisite I strongly recommend that students enroll
in it (or have done so previously), as that course provides much of the relevant context for the
seminar.

Organization and Logistics:
There are at most 16 students admitted to the seminar. They will work in groups of at most 4
throughout the seminar.

The kickoff meeting as well as the design presentation will take place with only the seminar
participants. The replications and the presentation of the replication results are together with
the course Behavioral Economics. The seminar will have physical meetings on the following
