| Title |
Cognitive Development |
| Description |
The master's lecture Cognitive Development combines theory and practice in an innovative way. On the one hand, content from the book and six podcasts is used, which the students work through independently. On the other hand, the practical application of the content is practiced during six face-to-face sessions. The examples relate to premature twins, the question of school readiness, delayed language development, an example of a child being examined as an eyewitness, a girl with reading and spelling difficulties, and the intellectual development of a child with a migrant background. In line with a problem-based learning approach, specific case studies are provided and key questions regarding medical history, diagnosis, and intervention are addressed. Extensive additional materials are provided during the face-to-face sessions (slide sets, further information, anonymized findings) and discussed. In order to actively participate in the face-to-face sessions, students are required to prepare the content in advance using the accompanying podcasts and book chapters.
The following face-to-face sessions have been scheduled:?????????
A list of learning objectives will be provided to help students prepare for the exam. The exam for 5 ECTS will take place on site during the master's exam week, but students must bring their own laptops. The exam will consist of classic yes/no questions and open-ended questions. |
