| Title |
Development of Subjective Well-Being Across the Life Span |
| Description |
The course gives an overview of major theories, concepts, and findings from research on the development of subjective well-being across the life span. Topics include developmental trajectories of well-being in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood, as well as key determinants of well-being, such as social relationships, social media use, major life events including separation, unemployment, and parenthood, and daily events such as interpersonal conflict, positive social interactions, and experiences of daily success. The course also addresses consequences of subjective well-being, for example for health and longevity, as well as cross-cultural perspectives on well-being.
Requirements: (1) Readings (homework). (2) Giving a presentation. (3) Regular and active attendance (max. 2 meetings may be missed). The meeting with the own presentation may not be missed. (4) Passing a final written exam (graded, Calendar Week 4).
Readings: Information on readings will be provided at the beginning of the course.
Course specialization: The lecture course can be credited for a module in developmental psychology or as a facultative course. |
