Title |
Globalisation, Global Change and Sustainable Development |
Description |
The aim of the course is to give students an overview of the topic of sustainable development against the background of current global crises. The introduction is formed by the clarification of central terms and their classification in the scientific debate. Subsequently, selected trends of global challenges for sustainable development are presented, including climate change, biodiversity loss, land use change, global economic challenges, poverty/socio-economic disparities/equality, lifestyles/consumption and energy/mobility. These thematic areas are also examined with reference to the central stakeholder groups in each case. Finally, in addition to the presentation and location of the challenge in the framework model presented at the beginning, the interactions of the various trends with each other will be worked out in particular and possible levers for overcoming them will be discussed.
Please note that you must also register for the performance assessment in the KSL if you wish to take the examination in this course. |
