Title |
Positive Psychology and Health Promotion |
Description |
Positive psychological phenomena can be seen as constituting resources in the promotion of health and be fostered in preventive campaigns (e.g., regarding the prevention of clinical disorders such as depression). The seminar gives insight into theories and research in the field of Positive Psychology (e.g., optimism, experience of flow, self-efficacy, resilience, networking). We will further discuss which impact the knowledge derived from these theories and studies has on the promotion of mental and physical health. We consider cognitive, motivational, and social factors, as well as psychophysiological bases of positive psychological concepts. |
