This course complements the Quantum Field Theory lectures and the Theoretical Exercises in preparing the ground for understanding the Standard Model of particle physics and for writing a Master's thesis from a broad spectrum of possibilities, ranging from statistical and condensed matter physics all the way to particle and mathematical physics. The main topics are: path integral (in quantum mechanics, statistical physics, field theory); symmetries and group theory (discrete groups, Lie groups, representations); non-perturbative classical solutions (instantons). |
