3. Proteindetektion (Elektrophorese, Mengenbestimmung, Aktivität)
4. Proteinmodifikation, -spaltung & -analytik (Sequenzierung, Aminosäureanalyse, Massenspektrometrie)
5. Arbeiten mit Membranproteinen (Detergenzien, Liposomen & Nanodiscs)
DNA-Methoden (2 Wochen)
1. Geschichte der DNA Sequenzierung
2. PCR & DNA Fingerprinting
3. Klonieren von DNA
4. Mutagenese
5. Gen Knockout
6. Genome editing
7. cDNA Bibliotheken
Cell culture and virological methods (2 weeks) - This part will be taught in English.
1. Basic cell culture techniques: Maintaining cells in culture, passage, counting, viability, and storage
2. Basic cell methods: Cell fractionation, flow cytometry, and transfection
3. Introduction to virology. Virus quantification/infectivity
4. Detection of viruses infecting cells: Immunofluorescence microscopy
5. Detection and quantification of viruses: RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, and RT-qPCR. Immunoprecipitation
Radiochemie und Strahlenschutz (3 Wochen):
Die Vorlesung behandelt nach einer Einführung in die Radiochemie, nukleare Methoden, die in der biochemischen Forschung Verwendung finden. Ebenfalls werden die Wechselwirkung radioaktiver Strahlung mit Materie und die daraus abgeleiteten Strahlenschutzgrundsätze und Arbeitsweisen diskutiert.
