Course type: interactive lectures with individual feedback on writing assignments
Module: Elective Course / Complementary Skills
Selection criterion: This course is limited to 30 participants. Students of the Master's Program Biomedical Engineering are given preference. Among these, prioritization is according to the number of ECTS credits acquired. AIM students, PhD students and students from other study programs can be admitted to this course if free places are available. Active participation is expected, so this course is not suitable for auditors.
A placement test has to be submitted after course registration. The purpose of this test is to place the students in the most suitable group; it plays no part in deciding the grade for the writing course. The submission deadline set by the lecturer has to be strictly observed and will be well before the first course date.
Course materials are supplied directly to participants by email and regularly posted on Ilias (www.ilias.unibe.ch)
Attendance rules
• Attendance is mandatory in 4 out of 5 workshops.
Prerequisites:
• General English to level B2 or above
Recommended Courses/Skills:
• None, but the course is likely to be most beneficial for students just before or during the writing of their master theses.
