Title |
Methods seminar: Estimating the credibility of past research |
Description |
This seminar teaches you to critically evaluate published research using a combination of a learned critical mindset and technical skills. That is, it teaches “forensic meta-science”: a structured way to check for errors, to assess the credibility of claims, and to determine the trustworthiness of existing research. In doing so, you will also gain a deeper understanding of common statistical methods.
This seminar involves completing practical exercises, discussion of cases studies, and the understanding and use of a number of statistical techniques. Assessment is done via a combination of the at home exercises and a larger project at the end of the semester.
Note: This class can be taken as a methods seminar or as a regular seminar for the master major/minor "Psychology of Digitalisation" |
