In this seminar, students will explore the history of one company. The goal will be to identify one important innovation that the company under examination has discovered or brought to the market and to -- within the historic context -- understand the economic forces shaping that innovation.
Your grade will be based on the number of points you collect throughout the semester. The total number of points is 100. The points for different tasks are listed below:
1. Presentation 1 (firm history) – 30 pts
2. Presentation 2 (the economic lessons) – 30 pts
3. Final report – 30 pts
4. General participation – 10 pts
A useful book for the "economic lessons" part is "Innovation and Incentives" by Suzanne Scotchmer.
