Title |
Research Project: Executive Functions and learning |
Description |
Comments (Content, Requirements, Literature, Registration):
In this seminar, students will have the opportunity to explore key aspects of developmental psychology research. Using selected datasets, they will work through the process of conducting a master’s thesis or scientific research article—from developing their research question to data analysis and interpretation of the results.
The seminar focuses on executive functions and their relevance to children’s learning. The provided datasets offer different perspectives on the development of these central cognitive control processes and how they can be studied empirically. At the same time, students will expand their methodological knowledge, learn to prepare and analyze data in R, and deepen their understanding of scientific work.
The seminar offers solid preparation for writing a master’s thesis.
Requirements: I. Participation in all sessions and active involvement II. Analysis of a provided dataset using appropriate scientific methods III. Creation of a full report (mock master’s thesis) including introduction, methods, results, and discussion IV. Presentation of findings in a poster or oral presentation V. Regular and active participation in discussions.
Language of instruction: German and English
Registration: Registration must be made via KSL and is binding.
