Title |
PA: Statistical Methods for Archaeological Data Analysis: Bayesian Methods |
Description |
Bayesian statistics has transformed the natural and social sciences in recent decades. In archaeology, it has revolutionised radiocarbon calibration, but its potential extends far beyond chronological refinement. This course introduces Bayesian reasoning and its application to archaeological data, from basic probability concepts to hierarchical models. Using R, students will gain practical experience with parameter estimation, regression, and model comparison in a Bayesian framework. |
