Title Developmental skills and psychopathological mechanisms in childhood and adolescence
Description The seminar is thematically situated at the intersection of developmental psychology and clinical psychology in childhood and adolescence. The seminar focuses on examining various developmental competencies and so-called “pathological mechanisms” that may arise during childhood and adolescence. Using clinical case studies, the seminar explores various pathological developmental trajectories in depth.
The seminar places very high demands on independent, consistent, and active participation. Seminar participants are expected not only to study the core literature but also to engage with specialized literature on pathomechanisms and to actively apply their knowledge when analyzing the case studies. To receive a grade for the seminar and earn the 5 ECTS credits, a written paper must be submitted at the end of the semester. Further information regarding the written paper will be provided during the seminar.
Registration: Registration must be completed through KSL. Registration is binding and cannot be canceled or changed.
Major: Coursework completed in this seminar will be recognized toward a master’s module in developmental psychology or clinical psychology (15, 30, or 45 ECTS) as well as a required elective.
