In this exercise, we will discuss new tendencies and perspectives in political ecology, with a particular focus on the more-than-human, feminist, and ontological turns. We will also address new topics, such as alternative and decolonial approaches to conservation and climate change mitigation, decolonial perspectives, grassroots activism, radical futures, and the perspectives of indigenous and local communities. We will also discuss how these relate to action or engaged anthropology in the new neoliberal and authoritarian world, and the different perspectives on the role of anthropology as a science in these fields.
