Title Body-centered methods in psychotherapy: theory, practice and self-awareness
Description In this proseminar, we focus on the core principles of body-centered psychotherapy as applied in current practice. The goal is to understand and contextualize both the theoretical foundations and the practical applications, as well as the evidence supporting these principles.

In addition to a foundational book, we will prepare, read, and critically reflect on scientific papers and articles related to the principles. Through the analysis of current research and discussion of the individual principles, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the interactions between body and mind.

Beyond the theoretical content, participants will have the opportunity to experience simple practical exercises. By engaging in some of the principles firsthand, they will gain an initial personal impression of how body-centered methods are applied in practice. The seminar provides a space to explore the principles and reflect on their potential use in therapy, including a critical consideration of their limitations and risks.

By the end of the proseminar, participants will be familiar with the principles both theoretically and practically and will have gained a first impression of what body-centered psychotherapy means in practice.
