Abgesagt/Cancelled:BA/MA Seminar (7 ECTS, SYS): Religion und Pazifismus: Historische und systematische Perspektiven |
| Description |
The seminar will focus on the systematic connections between religious traditions, the commitment to peace, and nonviolent conflict resolution. In the first part, we will discuss source texts from religious traditions and pacifist communities, and will examine their historical contexts and developments. The second part will present current examples of pacifist engagement. Representatives of communities and traditions, whose commitment to nonviolence is religiously motivated, will be invited to the seminar. The third part will introduce systematic perspectives: How can the connection between religious and non-religious pacifism be analyzed? How to reconstruct intra-religious conflicts that revolve around the legitimization of wars? |
